2. Donation Of 25 Domestic Energy saving Solar Aided Stoves to School community Beneficiaries

In this first phase, Rotary Donated 25 improved domestic solar aided cook stoves to 25 Families. These families where randomly selected. These families had to quantify the amount of Wood charcoal they where previously using and compare it to the amount used with the solar aided stoves
to obtain results for the coming projects
— Name, Title

"I was Using 3 Basins of charcoal every month before Rotary gave me the solar aided stove. Today I only use 1 basin of charcoal per month. Some times I just buy charcoal dust and mix it with Clay soil to make Briquettes and that's what I use for cooking since Vron Donated a briquettes making machine to our community"

2. Donation Of 35 Domestic Energy saving Solar Aided Stoves to School community Beneficiaries

In this second phase, Rotary Donated 35 improved domestic solar aided cook stoves to 35 Families. Most of these families selected had 4 and more individuals. The average fuel wood used per month was 4 basins. Most of these individuals also suffered smoke related respiratory and optical infections from poor cooking methods and therefore where now at an advantage when the stoves where donated to them

The Save Energy Grow Fruit Trees Project phase 3 (Extension & Seeking For Partners)
Our Main Focus
Rotary Is extending the Project to 2 more districts, That is Busia and Tororo District. This will involve more clubs on to the project. Rotary Club Of Busia and Rotary Club Of Tororo.
Main Focus shall be put to less privigilleged school communties in the rural parts of Busia and Tororo.
Schools focused on include:
These schools face the following challenges:
1. Lack of properly designed and established kitchens
2. poor and non energy saving stoves. Most of these schools are using the three stone technique of preparing students meals. These lead to alot of deforestation and land degredation caused by such of cooking wood fuels to feed into these kitchens
3. Smoke infested cooking facilities. these lead to Smoke related respiratory and optical deseases amongest the cooking starff.
4. The environmental degredation in these areas has caused changes in weather partners that hinder farming whih is the major income generating activity. This has led to poor livelihood amongest women and youths in this area.
